Hello!
I am a fantasy author and I've been receiving emails from someone at host.ckua.broadcast@gmail.com claiming to be a radio host from CKUA who wants to help promote my books... for a fee. Unfortunately authors are routinely targeted by scammers asking for money, often pretending to be a real person, but using AI to write their emails to make them look professional. As such authors are often forced to double-check whether the person contacting us is legit, or if they are a scammer pretending to be a real person.Do you have someone at CKUA named Grant Stovel? Is Grant the host of a radio show about books?Does Grant ask people for fees in order to be on his radio program?Thank you in advance for your time!
Hi,
Unfortunately, this scam has been happening to us, as well as other
organizations. We are working on trying to shut this down, and are
disheartened that authors are being targeted.
Grant Stovel is indeed a fabulous host at CKUA, but does not have a book
show, NOR does he charge for interviews! He is the loveliest, most
honest and kind person you could meet. Doubly egregious to target him
(and you!).

Thanks so much for checking in with us.
