"Five-Star Dungeon" by Pockbit

Gary Hutchins spent twenty-three years managing a grocery store. He never once got a five-star review.

Now he's dead — and reincarnated as a dungeon core deep underground, expected to kill adventurers for the System's approval. There's just one problem: Gary doesn't want to murder anyone. He wants to run a good dungeon. One with clear signage, reasonable loot drops, and maybe a suggestion box.

With a loyal slime named Kevin, a goblin named Steve who has unexpected management potential, and a System that rewards body counts over customer satisfaction, Gary sets out to prove that a dungeon can thrive on ethics instead of extermination — one satisfied adventurer at a time.

But not everyone wants a kinder dungeon to succeed. A rival Baron sees him as a threat to the old order. A corrupt Overseer sees him as a loophole to close. And somewhere above it all, an ancient, indifferent bureaucracy is quietly deciding what "success" is even supposed to mean.

Gary just wanted to run a tight ship. Instead, he might end up reforming the entire underworld.

"Five-Star Dungeon" is a comedic cozy fantasy / LitRPG adventure about retail wisdom, found family, and what happens when customer service meets the apocalypse.

"Jester" by Tim Carter

In a realm ruled by idiots, their only hope is the Fool.

You’d think an army of zombie trolls and undead ogres would catch the nobility’s attention. You’d be wrong. The rulers of Halfsock are deeply in denial. Besides, they have taxes to avoid, neighbors to plunder, and relatives to backstab.

With war looming, a goblin latrine slave named Shelly resolves to save Castle Halfsock from itself. He must take on many roles… jester, detective, spy, and political fixer. But his most challenging role—especially after a lifetime spent cleaning other people’s toilets—is as a confident secret agent worthy of trust, friendship, and maybe even love.

Can the least powerful person in the realm overcome his insecurities to depose rulers, forge alliances, and fend off an undead horde?

"Jester" is a comic tale of politics, friendship, and found family for fans of Nicholas Eames, Terry Pratchett, and J. Zachary Pike.

"Here be dragon clichés..." by Richard Sexsmith

Harold and Malcolm aren't knights. Nor are they dragonslayers. But they do like to pretend that they are...

In a series of misadventures the two half-brothers / charlatans find themselves trying to live up to the stories that they've been telling about themselves. Unfortunately that means trying to kill a real dragon, instead of just pretending that they do.

When things go sideways with these two ne'er-do-wells, as it usually does, can Harold and Malcolm find the means (and the clichés) to stay alive and get the job done?

Gally Chaparral is a highland girl with a dream: move to Lackmore, join the Bardic Guild, and get a gig at a fancy tavern on Symphony Hill. Unfortunately, becoming a bard isn't so easy. No good tavern will hire a student, her teacher is a jerk, and the only job she can find is washing dishes at a bar that seems to have recently been a dungeon.

When Gally auditions as her tavern's new bard, things start looking up. But her first show is ruined when the owner accuses Alix, a beautiful but obnoxious postal rider, of destroying a valuable painting. Now, to keep the gig, Gally must prove Alix's innocence. But there's more to the mystery than the loss of a painting, and being forced to work with Alix has Gally wondering if this brassy delivery girl is really as bad as she seems...

Wyngraf founder Nathaniel Webb invites you to a world of whimsy, wonder, and music in his full-length cozy fantasy debut: Bard City Blues.

"How to Avoid Death on a Daily Basis" by V. Moody

From Book 1:

What if you really were transported to a fantasy world and expected to kill monsters to survive? No special abilities, no OP weapons, no status screen to boost your stats and no cheat mode. Never mind finding the dragon’s treasure or defeating the Demon Lord, you only need to worry about one thing—how to stay alive.

A group of teenagers wake up in a strange, fantastical land with creatures from myth and legend. They are given archaic weapons they don't know how to use and told to do their best.

Convinced it has to be some kind of virtual reality RPG, all the people summoned form parties and set off on their adventures, leaving behind the people nobody wants in their group.

Story of my life, thinks Colin.

'How To Avoid Death On A Daily Basis' is a dark, hilarious fantasy series with 7 volumes.

It looks like a game. It feels like a game. It isn't a game.
